Allowing the Psalmists to Lead You in Worship

As we're reading through the Psalms, let's remember that the poem/songs are designed to lead us in worship. We are being encouraged to adopt the same attitudes and pray the same prayers as the lead worshiper. So, David, for example, is an example for us to follow. How much do your prayers mirror the prayers of the psalmists? Do you have the same combination of reality ("enemies") and hope ("steadfast love")? The Psalmist knows he's in trouble, but also knows he's safe--both. It's our current condition, too, and because of Christ, we have even greater assurance of our Heavenly Father's protection.
